WORK SHOP ON TOURISM.
Terichmir Paragliding Club (TPC) held one day awareness
raising workshop on tourism development in PTDC Booni, Mastuj Distt. Chitral.
The purpose of the event was to encourage the forgotten
sector of tourism in chitral region with an obvious mission to provide off-form
income earning opportunities for the youth of the area This is the way as to
how growing pressure on natural recourses could be reduced.
The event was attended by a diverse array of stakeholders
from different villages of north Chitral. Most importantly, Tehsil
administration fully participated in the event and gave its commitment to
support tourism secter in Chitral.
The young PG pilots of Chitral highlighted the importance of
paragliding as a potential product at a pave with free style polo. It was
conformed that there is bright future for the sport in Chitral, given the ideal
take off and landing space in addition to non stop ideal thermal helping the
pilots stay in the sky for long time to cover a long distance. The forum
stressed the need to organize national level paragliding event in this region
to the attract the tourist to the Region.
